PITTSBURGH, PA — Industrial Heating Magazine, in cooperation with the Metal Treating Institute (MTI), Jacksonville Beach, Fla., has awarded the ninth annual Master Craftsman Award to VAC AERO International of Oakville, Ontario.

VAC AERO International is a privately-owned company founded in 1959 to provide heat treating services to aerospace and high technology industries. Since then, the company has expanded to serve a global customer base with a number of products and services related to heat treating.

VAC AERO was awarded a plaque and $1,500 to be used as an education scholarship in material sciences or heat treatment. The award is based on contributions made by each applicant company in the areas of quality programs, pollution/hazardous waste control and community involvement. Bill Potts and Jeff Pritchard of VAC AERO accepted the award during Furnaces North America 2004 held in Nashville, Tennessee on Sept. 24, 2004.
