The Monty, September 2004 Issue

Standard has just announced that they have signed a five year, $70 million (US) contract with the US Army to overhaul and repair helicopter engines. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba they just received their first 5 Rolls Royce engines last week fresh from the Middle East. Whether this means they will have to enlarge their heat treat department we don’t know. I do know that they have several vacuum furnaces currently, including at least one from GM Enterprises and some from Vac Aero. I can also speak from experience and say that they have a large Dry Coolers water cooling system (I know, I sold it to them). August 31/04
