I’ve been told that this captive heat treater in Terre Haute, Indiana has just purchased a brand new Vac Aero Furnace (new vacuum furnaces and heat treating). Sounds like it’s a bottom loader 72" X 72" with 2 bar pressure quenching capabilities. I know nothing about Tri Industries, however I do hear that they already have several other vacuum furnaces in their facility.

As you would expect the competition for this furnace was fierce with at least one other vendor who was quoting this job reducing their price several times before the order was finally placed. My personal feeling is that giving your "best price" and then reducing it several times after you’ve quoted is not a good game to play.
