Transient Liquid Phase (TLP) Bonding

The process consists of four stages:  heating, dissolution, isothermal solidification, and homogonenization. VAC AERO has performed TLP bonding on IN738 nickel superalloy.  TLP bonded stress rupture bars fractured at an average of 93% of the life of base metal bars.

TLP bond made at 50 psi for 9 hours
